5 examples of storage devices

The hard drive, also called the hard disk or fixed disk, is the primary storage unit of the computer.

A floppy disk is a removable rotating flexible (or floppy) magnetic storage disk.
A floppy drive stores and retrieves information on floppy disks.

The tape drive copies files from the computer onto tape cartridges. This device is also called a tape backup.

CD-ROM stands for Compact Disc Read Only Memory. It is a device that reads information stored on plastic compact disks.

Zip drive is a type of removal disk storage capable of holding a moderate amount of computer information.
